Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi will present the plan, while MLAs and other public representatives from the district are expected to attend. This will be the first DPDC meeting in Pune district in the absence of Ajit Pawar, who earlier chaired the council meetings. District planning officials said the major allocations in the proposed plan are for schools, health, tourism, roads, and rural development. Sources from the administration added that the proposed annual plan of Rs1,032 crore for 2026–27 is around Rs60 crore lower than last year’s original allocation. In 2025–26, the district administration prepared a plan of Rs1,092 crore, which the state govt later enhanced to Rs1,379 crore with additional funding of Rs287 crore. Officials said, in view of the state’s financial situation, the district was advised to keep the target for the current year’s plan on the lower side. Accordingly, the administration prepared a reduced outlay compared to last year. On the utilisation of funds, of the Rs1,379 crore approved for 2025–26, administrative approval was granted to works worth around Rs1,200 crore, and the tendering process was initiated for these projects. Funds of nearly Rs100 crore were released initially, following which around Rs500–600 crore released was spent directly on works. The remaining Rs200–250 crore is expected to be released shortly. Though the plan presented for 2026–27 stands at ₹1,032 crore, the district administration expects additional funds of around Rs250 crore during the year for various projects. Officials said the total outlay may go up to around Rs1,600 crore, similar to the enhancement granted last year. In the previous year’s plan, Ajit Pawar laid special emphasis on strengthening Zilla Parishad schools and primary health centres across the district. The two new initiatives — ‘model schools’ and ‘model PHCs’ — were introduced for the first time. Funds were also earmarked for rural roads, public facilities, and civic amenities. “The focus saw many such model schools and PHCs coming up,” said a district administration official.Instead of allocating funds for routine works of the forest department, the district proposed selective funding for eco-tourism-related projects. The district administration expects similar sectoral priorities to be discussed during the Feb 12 meeting before the plan is approved. With several sops already announced by the state govt, further allocations may be restricted, said a senior official.
