Pune: The city-based HCMTR-Nagrik Kruti Samiti (HCMTR-NKS) met municipal commissioner Naval Kishore Ram on Thursday to raise concerns about the proposed High Capacity Mass Transit Route (HCMTR), which runs through different areas of the city.The group said lack of clarity was leading to confusion. The group decided to approach PMC seeking an official and transparent presentation of the current proposal on alignment, design, technical details and likely impacts.The members of the group said the municipal chief assured them that residents would be involved in the conversation regarding the HCMTR and they were looking forward to the meeting and presentation by the administration on the project.Prajakta Divekar, a member of the group, said their concerns were not about opposing solutions to Pune’s mobility challenges but about ensuring that any major infrastructure intervention was well-planned, transparent, environmentally and socially responsible.The group demanded that the project should be developed through meaningful engagement with residents to be affected by it.
