Chandigarh: Prof SL Goel, 90, noted public administration scholar, former member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and UGC Emeritus Professor at Panjab University, passed away on Aug 5. He was cremated the same day.A prolific academic, Prof Goel authored more than three dozen books and guided over two dozen researchers, including senior civil servants. He also served on several policy-making bodies and public sector boards.He is survived by his wife, Prof Aruna Goel, sons Dr Rajneesh Goel, IAS, and advocate Indresh Goel, and their families.A prayer meeting will be held on Aug 7 at Shri Sanatan Dharam Mandir, Sector 15-B, Chandigarh, from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm.
