Chandigarh: The newly elected office-bearers of the Panjab University Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) for the 2026-27 session formally assumed office on Thursday after taking their oaths at a ceremony held on the university campus.The ceremony, attended by university stakeholders and students, officially inaugurated the new student leadership’s tenure. The council will represent student concerns and engage with the university administration on campus issues throughout the academic year.Alongside the central council, five executive department representatives (EDRs) were elected from various departments.Liza from the department of mathematics led the EDR tally with 54 votes, followed by Devank Thakur (statistics) with 52 votes, Aditi (sociology) with 47 votes, Abhayeet Singh Bhangoo (University Business School) with 41 votes, and Shubham Rana (community education and disability studies) with 38 votes.
