Ahmedabad: Protests erupted across Gujarat following allegations of a paper leak in the third-year BAMS examination conducted by Jamnagar Ayurvedic University. The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and Youth Congress have condemned the incident and demanded stringent action against those responsible.According to reports, the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery examination was scheduled for July 20. However, a day earlier, 11 of the 12 questions allegedly circulated widely on social media as “important questions“. The incident has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the examination system, particularly in the medical field, where such irregularities can have far-reaching implications for students’ careers and public health.Student organisations alleged that repeated instances of paper leaks and corruption in Gujarat, ranging from recruitment examinations to university assessments, have become increasingly frequent. They criticised the state govt and education authorities for failing to take decisive action despite several similar incidents in the past.NSUI and Youth Congress have demanded a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter, along with strict action against all those involved in the alleged leak. They said such malpractice undermines merit and erodes public trust in the education system.Both organisations have announced a protest programme on the university campus and appealed to students across the state to join the movement and raise their voices against corruption and irregularities in the education sector.
