Prayagraj: Newly appointed BJP state spokesperson Ashish Gupta on Sunday remarked that people of the state are set to ensure the victory of the BJP in the 2027 Assembly elections and asserted that the Samajwadi Party and Congress will face a crushing defeat, with Rahul and Akhilesh once again sharing the blame for failure in UP.Taking a dig at the SP and Congress protests regarding the ‘SIR’ (Special Intensive Revision) campaign, he asserted that Election Commission is an independent constitutional body and the opposition parties’ protests against the SIR process amount to an attempt to intimidate the institution.He, meanwhile, explained that the SIR exercise aims to remove the names of fake or deceased voters, or infiltrators among voters, from the electoral rolls, a move that has caused panic and agitation within the Congress and SP ranks. He further noted that the Congress raised no objections when changes were made to electoral rolls during the UPA regime or in the past, yet they are now opposing the process for political gain. He emphasised that people of the state have realised the opposition from the SP and Congress is merely a drama intended to spread confusion—a long-time habit of the Congress, which habitually opposes any reform or transparent process by propagating lies and misconceptions.People of the state are now aware that the SP and Congress are defined by a legacy of hooliganism and dynastic politics, and they will no longer be swayed by their misleading narratives, said Gupta.BJP is a family of workers united by a single mission and ushering in good governance—symbolised by the blooming of the lotus (party symbol)—while adhering to the ideology of nationalism, he added.
