Student leaders claimed that private universities are ignoring FRC guidelines and placing an unfair financial burden on students and parents.

Ahmedabad: Tension prevailed at LJ University on Friday over allegations that the institution violated fee regulatory committee (FRC) guidelines by collecting an additional Rs 6,000 per student as exam fees. The issue sparked protests by NSUI activists, who gathered on campus and staged a demonstration against the university administration.

According to sources, NSUI members approached the university authorities to submit a representation regarding the alleged illegal fee collection. However, when trustees reportedly did not respond, the protesters raised slogans and tossed dummy currency notes into the air.

Student leaders claimed that private universities are ignoring FRC guidelines and placing an unfair financial burden on students and parents. They demanded an immediate refund of the excess fee. The organisation also threatened to escalate the protest and approach the state education minister if their demands were not addressed promptly.
