Kolkata: Only 14 out of 800 members of West Bengal Motion Picture Artists’ Forum who attended a meeting on Sunday agreed to work with Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee, and firms they are associated with. The Forum has approximately 3,000 members.Shantilal Mukhopadhyay said the organisation is not banning anyone but members are feeling insecure about working with them. Prosenjit Chatterjee said talks will be initiated to discuss the possibility of projects associated with them moving forward if the production ownership changes hands. “Our organisation cannot provide work. It can only try to find solutions for problems,” he said. Referring to Dev’s 72-hour challenge to him to lift the ban on actors and directors, he said: “I don’t have the power to resolve the ‘ban culture’ in 72 hours.” tnn
