Daltonganj: Latehar police have pasted a proclamation notice at the Garhwa residence of wanted CPI (Maoist) zonal commander Raju Bhuiyan, directing him to appear before the court on Nov 10.Police said Bhuiyan, a long-time fugitive in several Maoist related cases, is wanted under the UAPA, Criminal Law Amendment Act, Arms Act and other criminal provisions. The proclamation was issued by the court of the chief judicial magistrate, Latehar, after warrants against him remained unexecuted.SDPO (Sadar), Sandip Kumar Gupta, said, “Bhuiyan has been absconding or hiding himself to evade arrest. A police team pasted the notice on the front wall of Bhuiyan’s house at Dandai village in Garhwa district.”Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav said Bhuiyan has been on the list of wanted Maoists since the launch of Operation Double Bull in Feb 2022, aimed at dismantling Maoist networks in Latehar, Lohardaga and Gumla. Police described him as a close associate of slain Maoist Ravindra Ganjhu.Officials said Bhuiyan faces 14 cases across Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu districts. Police added that if he fails to appear, they will seek his declaration as a proclaimed offender and initiate proceedings to attach his movable and immovable properties.
