Buxar: A death threat letter allegedly sent to two senior Buxar education officials has prompted a police probe, with sub divisional police officer (SDPO) directing the Town SHO to investigate the matter.District Education Officer (DEO) Indra Kumar Karn and District Programme Officer (Establishment) Rajnish Kumar Jha reportedly received the letter, which allegedly contains references to a Maoist organisation and threats against the two officers.Buxar SDPO Gaurav Pandey said he had directed the Town SHO to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.Senior Congress leader Shradhanand Tiwari has urged the district magistrate and superintendent of police to provide immediate security to the two officials. He also demanded that the letter be examined by a handwriting expert to verify its authenticity and help identify its author.The development has sparked concern among officials and political representatives. Tiwari also alleged that some individuals were attempting to intimidate officials and influence the functioning of the education department. These allegations could not be independently verified.When contacted, DEO Indra Kumar Karn declined to comment, saying, “I cannot say anything on this matter.”Despite repeated attempts, the Buxar SP could not be reached for comment.
