HYDERABAD: City-based businessman Saurabh Agarwal, director of Bengal Cold Rollers, on Friday alleged in the Supreme Court that he was being harassed in the case related to KLSR Infratech, a Hyderabad-based firm against whom he is fighting a case in the NCLAT.Agarwal’s counsel Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay on Friday informed the bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymala Bagchi that Agarwal’s 75-year-old mother was arrested (by police) and they are under pressure.Agarwal approached the Supreme Court seeking a CBI and ED probe into the claims of an NCLAT, Chennai bench member, who claimed that a ‘revered member’ of judiciary tried to persuade him to issue an order in favour of KLSR.While the insolvency case was transferred to NCLAT principal bench at Delhi and is heard on a daily basis, the apex court adjourned the matter to April 10, directing the NLCAT order in the appeal if delivered by then, be placed before it, for further hearing.During the hearing, the bench observed any step taken by this court (at this point of time) or any observation might cause prejudice in the appeal pending before NCLAT. “Because we have already requested the tribunal to decide the appeals in a time bound manner, we will keep this matter pending. Let the appeal be decided first,” noted the bench.Meanwhile, Upadhyay, whose client supplied raw material to KLSR, urged the court to direct the central and state authorities to file counters in the matter, and directions to the state to not take any coercive steps against him in violation of his rights.“We will see the present petition based on the decision in the appeal,” noted the bench.Solicitor general Tushar Mehta appeared for the authorities and made submissions, while senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi appeared for KLSR infratech. BRS working president KTR while addressing the press at Hyderabad on Feb 4, alleged that the state govt has awarded tenders worth 6,000 cr relating to various state govt projects to the insolvent firm KLSR.
