HYDERABAD: BRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday questioned Union home minister Amit Shah as to why the NDA govt at the Centre has not ordered an investigation into the alleged corruption by the Congress govt in Telangana, particularly when Shah claims the Revanthled administration has become an ‘ATM’ for Congress leaders.KTR issued a statement in response to Shah’s remarks that the Congress govt is no different from the previous BRS govt in terms of corruption.“Can you clarify to the people of Telangana what is preventing the central govt from launching an investigation into the corrupt practices of the Congress govt, like the CBI and ED?” he asked. “Is there a response to the allegation that while the BJP is confronting the Congress in Delhi, it is forming alliances with them in Telangana, thereby indirectly supporting Revanth?” he added.KTR recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous accusations that Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy were collecting illegal levies under the so-called ‘RR tax’. “Yet, to this day, no investigation has been ordered,” he pointed out. He also criticised the comments made against the Kaleshwaram project, saying: “It is unfortunate to malign the Kaleshwaram project, which played a crucial role in helping Telangana surpass Punjab in grain production and become the leading state in the country.”The BRS leader also alleged that despite the BJP having eight elected MPs and two Union ministers from Telangana, the party has not conferred national status to any project in the state, nor has it approved any major educational institutions such as an IIT, IIM, or medical colleges. “This is something the four crore people of Telangana are observing closely,” he noted.
