Ahmedabad: The rath yatra procession pulsated with patriotic fervor as decorated trucks and tableaux proudly showcased India’s military prowess, with Operation Sindoor, carried out in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, emerging as a compelling theme. Among the 101 participating trucks, at least 20 bore striking decorations commemorating the military operation. Vibrant banners celebrated the valour of Indian armed forces, while specially highlighting the achievements of women officers, Col Sophia Qureshi and Wg Cdr Vyomika Singh, symbolizing women’s empowerment in the forces.The atmosphere was electric as young participants, dressed in crisp military uniforms, stood beside meticulously crafted replicas of Indian fighter jets and military equipment. The air resonated with passionate chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ as devoted spectators joined in the patriotic chorus.In a touching tribute, several trucks and tableaux also paid solemn homage to the victims of the AI 171 airplane crash, with poignant banners offering prayers for the departed souls. The dual themes of national pride and collective mourning created a deeply moving atmosphere throughout the procession.
