Chennai: DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant on Friday extended support to chief minister C Joseph Vijay’s proposed Karnataka visit to hold talks with Karnataka CM D K Shivakumar on the Mekedatu issue.Speaking in the assembly, Premallatha said there was nothing wrong in Vijay going to Karnataka. “Both (Vijay and Shivakumar) are first-time chief ministers. The talks will benefit farmers of both the states,” Premallatha said, suggesting that if the situation was not conducive in Karnataka, Shivakumar can come to TN.Recalling that DMDK founder Vijayakant brought together all political parties and took them to New Delhi for Tamil Nadu’s welfare, Premallatha said Vijay too shall follow `Captain’s path’ and take all party representatives to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Cauvery issue.Responding to Vijay’s remarks on ‘humiliation’, Premallatha said people of TN will be with Vijay and will not stay silent if he is humiliated.
