Prayagraj: Residents of Prayagraj will soon get access to super speciality medical services at Motilal Nehru Divisional Hospital (Colvin) and TB Sapru (Beli) Hospital, with advanced treatment facilities to be introduced through Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled technology. The initiative will be implemented with the support of Cantonment General Hospital and several major hospitals in Lucknow.Under the new arrangement, patients will be able to access super speciality outpatient department (OPD) services in critical care, cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, nephrology, and gastroenterology. Notably, all these services will be available on a registration slip costing just Rs 1, making specialised healthcare more accessible to the public. The proposal received approval last week in Lucknow from Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister and Health minister Brajesh Pathak. He directed officials to begin the OPD services as a pilot project. After reviewing its performance over a period of three months, the govt will hold a detailed assessment meeting. If the model proves successful, it may be implemented across the state.Officials said the intensive care units of the hospitals will be connected through a “hub and spoke” model supported by telemedicine. For continuous ICU monitoring, two emergency medical officers, six staff nurses, and four paramedical personnel will be deployed round the clock.Preparations for the super speciality services are already underway. An ICU was established at Beli Hospital, while OPD rooms were designated at Calvin. Authorities said the services are expected to begin within the next 15 days.
