Udaipur: Pratapgarh police have frozen properties worth around Rs 70 lakh linked to a smuggler, allegedly acquired through proceeds of the illegal drug trade, officials said Friday.The action was taken under Operation Trinetra. Police said it was the first time in the district that assets of a drug courier had been frozen under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act. Officials said the action was carried out on the directions of DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma and under the supervision of Pratapgarh SP B Aditya.According to police, Narayan Lal Meena, 48, a resident of Faredi village, was arrested on Feb 21, 2026, after officers seized 2.7 kg of brown sugar and 1.7 kg of a substance allegedly used for adulterating the drug. The seizure was made during a blockade operation, following which a case was registered at Arnod police station.A subsequent investigation revealed that Meena had allegedly acquired assets using proceeds from the smuggling of MD, brown sugar and poppy husk. Police froze a house in Faredi valued at around Rs 60 lakh and a Mahindra TUV vehicle worth about Rs 10 lakh.Police added that assets linked to the alleged supplier in the same case, Usman Khan Pathan of Devaldi village, were earlier frozen. The properties, allegedly created in the names of his mother and brother, included a house, a farmhouse, two SUVs, livestock and other assets collectively valued at about Rs 2.78 crore.Officials said Operation Trinetra will continue to target the financial networks of those involved in narcotics trafficking and others found supporting the illegal trade.
