Officials launching the portal

Lucknow: The UP new and renewable energy development agency (UPNEDA) has launched a dedicated portal to monitor the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri surya ghar scheme.The portal, www.pmsgy.upneda.co.in, was inaugurated on Monday by UPNEDA director Indrajit Singh. According to the department, the platform is expected to improve transparency, speed and accountability in the scheme’s execution.The new portal enables real-time monitoring of every major stage of the process, including application submission, approval, installation of rooftop solar systems and payment. Officials said that the system will help them track progress more accurately while also allowing beneficiaries to check the status of their applications easily. The initiative has been positioned as part of the state govt’s broader digital governance efforts.The model developed by UPNEDA has also received appreciation from the Union ministry of new and renewable energy.The Union ministry has sought technical support from UPNEDA to develop a similar portal at the central level. For this, Singh has formed a special committee that will assist the central govt with technical requirements.Under the Pradhan Mantri surya ghar scheme, UP has made significant progress, with more than 4.8 lakh residential rooftop solar systems installed so far.
