Wardha: A political controversy has erupted in the district over the appointment of a special duty officer (OSD), with the Congress demanding a departmental inquiry and registration of a criminal case.As per official orders, Dr Dnyanada Phanse, deputy CEO of the Zilla Parishad, was appointed on deputation to the office of the Minister of State for Home (Urban), Revenue, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, and Food and Drug Administration. However, Congress leaders have alleged that instead of reporting to her designated place of posting, she has been functioning as an OSD in the guardian minister’s office in Wardha and handling administrative responsibilities there.District Congress president Manoj Chandurkar claimed there was a discrepancy between the notified posting and the duties being discharged by the deputed officer. He demanded a detailed departmental inquiry and sought clarity on the legal position, along with disciplinary action against those responsible.“If the appointment is at one place and the work is being carried out at another, it violates administrative norms. It raises suspicion that the administration is favouring one party,” Chandurkar said.He warned that the party would move court if an inquiry was not initiated. No official response has been issued by the Guardian Minister’s office so far.
