Bhilwara: District Special Team (DST) and Parsoli police Friday seized 260.26 kg of illegal opium from a Maruti Eeco and arrested one alleged smuggler in Chittorgarh district. The vehicle used for transporting the contraband was also seized.SP Dharmendra Singh said a special drive is being conducted across the district to curb illegal narcotics smuggling. A team led by Begu SHO Ashutosh Singh was on patrol near Shivpura when it intercepted a suspicious Maruti Eeco parked near a govt school.During the search, police recovered opium concealed in the vehicle. The accused, identified as Sanjay (26), was arrested on the spot.Police seized the contraband, registered a case under the NDPS Act, and launched a further investigation.
