New Delhi: A raid at a bar in central Delhi’s Paharganj led to the seizure of suspected MDMA from two individuals and exposed alleged violations of licencing norms, police said on Wednesday.The raid was carried out at Sutra Bar on Panchkuian Road, where police initially found some individuals engaged in “objectionable dance performances.” Upon further verification, police discovered that the establishment was allegedly operating without the requisite licence for such activities.“During further search, small quantities of suspected MDMA were recovered from two individuals,” said DCP (central) Rohit Rajbir Singh.Police have initiated action against the 42-year-old manager of the bar.A case was registered under Sections 296 (obscene acts and songs), Section 223 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) and Section 3(5) (common intention) of BNS.In addition, a separate case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.The police have also informed MCD about the alleged violations of licence conditions for further action.
