Hazaribag: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly pelting stones at police when it prevented a Ram Navami procession to pass through an unauthorised route under Barkatha police station area on Tuesday night during Mangala Julus.Barhi SDPO Ajit Kumar Bimal on Wednesday said that the said procession had no licence to pass through the route which they wanted to take. “Police were doing its job but a few members who were part of the procession began stone pelting on cops leading to injuries to two policemen,” he said.Those arrested were identified as Uttam Mahto and Rajiv, said police, adding that they were leading the procession.The SDPO said, “We have promulgated section 363 under BNS banning procession and assembly of people on that route. A case has also been registered at Barkatha police station against the arrested persons and other unknown.”
