Baramulla, Sep 23: Baramulla Police have attached a residential property under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with an FIR registered at Police Station Sheeri, officials said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the police said that the action relates to FIR No. 37/2026, registered under Sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UAPA.
Police said the attached property is a double-storeyed residential house on land bearing Survey No. 423 at Namblan village in Sheeri and belongs to accused Aijaz Ahmad Ganie, son of late Mohammad Sultan Ganie.
According to police, the property was found during investigation to have been prima facie used to provide shelter and logistical support to terrorists and facilitate terrorist activities.
The attachment was carried out following approval from the Director General of Police, J&K, conveyed through an order dated September 22.
Police said a public notice has been displayed at the property prohibiting its sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or creation of any third-party interest.
The action is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the logistical and support infrastructure of terror networks and take action against persons and properties allegedly linked to facilitating terrorist activities, police said.
