T’puram: Kollam East Police on Wednesday arrested a 38-year-old nursing officer at the ESI Hospital in Asramam, under Pocso Act, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl inside a hospital lift on Tuesday.The arrested Migdad is a native of Poonthura. He is also reportedly a YouTuber.According to the police, the girl had entered the lift to go to a ward when the accused allegedly entered along with her. The police said he allegedly subjected the minor to sexual assault inside the lift.The girl later informed her mother about the incident. Following this, the girl and her mother approached the police. The police subsequently began efforts to trace the accused.The accused had allegedly remained absconding after the incident and was eventually taken into custody from the hospital premises, the police said.The police are also examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and collecting further evidence as part of the probe.
