Hisar: A day after the bodies of a 33-year-old woman and her two children were recovered from a water tank at their house in Malapur village in Hisar district, police on Monday arrested the woman’s husband in connection with the alleged triple murder. The victims were cremated at the woman’s native village, Kapro, after post-mortem examinations were conducted late on Sunday night.Police said a case has been registered against the husband, Amit Kumar, and other named persons on the complaint of the woman’s family under charges including murder. Investigators said they were examining the case from all angles.According to the complaint, Mukesh (33) married Amit Kumar in 2012. Her brother, Anil, alleged that she had been subjected to harassment since marriage and that repeated attempts by the family to resolve the disputes had failed. The complaint further alleged that Amit approached Agroha police on July 31 to report his wife and two children, Varsha (13) and Vansh (12), missing. The following day, after the family expressed suspicion of foul play and accompanied police to the house, the bodies of the three were recovered from a water tank on the premises. The postmortems were conducted late on Sunday after the family demanded that they be carried out by a medical board and sought the arrest of all those named in the complaint. The bodies were handed over to the family on Monday morning and cremated at Kapro village.Police said Amit Kumar would be produced before a court to seek police remand. Investigators said custodial interrogation would help establish the motive, reconstruct the sequence of events and determine whether others were involved. They added that further action would be taken based on forensic evidence, the post-mortem reports and the ongoing investigation.
