Pune: The Ravet police have arrested a chain snatcher with a criminal record and solved five chain-snatching cases and a vehicle theft case. They have recovered gold jewellery worth Rs1.65 lakh and the stolen motorcycle, collectively worth Rs3 lakh, from the accused, Aditya Manlor (19), a resident of Shivajinagar. Manlor has six cases of chain and mobile handset snatching registered against him.A Ravet police team led by senior police inspector Nitin Fatangare took the accused into custody after examining CCTV footage. “During questioning, Manlor admitted to have snatched gold chains along with his accomplice in Ravet, Hinjewadi, Talegaon Dabhade and Vishrantwadi areas,” Fatangare said.The officer said the police have recovered stolen gold chains worth Rs1.65 lakh from him. Manlor was using a stolen motorcycle to commit the chain snatchings. He had stolen the motorcycle from Bidar in Karnataka. “Our investigations are on,” the officer said.
