Chennai: A 21-year-old POCSO accused, who escaped from police custody while undergoing treatment at Stanley Govt Hospital on Wednesday night, was caught on Thursday.The accused, Raja of Pudur, was arrested by the Ambattur All Women Police in a POCSO case on June 15 and had been remanded to judicial custody at Puzhal prison. He was brought to Stanley Govt Hospital under armed police escort after complaining of stomach pain. While waiting near the emergency ward, he asked for water.When one constable went to a nearby canteen to buy a water bottle, Raja distracted the attention of the other policeman guarding him and fled from the hospital premises.Based on a complaint, Washermenpet police registered a case and launched a search to trace the escaped prisoner. He was traced to a shop near Villivakkam.
