Nagpur: Work has commenced for supplying Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to domestic customers in housing projects in Mihan. At the current pace, PNG connections of nearly 2,500 to 3,000 customers are likely to be activated within next 40 days.The work is being carried out under the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda gas pipeline project undertaken by Gas Authority of India (GAIL). The Mumbai to Nagpur line has been completed. Haryana City Gas (HCG) is the distributor for Nagpur district. HCG has set a target of delivering PNG to every household in the entire Nagpur district within the next 4 to 5 years.Senior officials said PNG supply began in the district from a housing society in Butibori a few days ago. Officials said housing projects in Mihan will be covered in the next phase. Work is underway to lay pipeline, and registration of domestic customers has started. The pipeline work is expected to be completed soon.
