Patna: The Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday launched a special sanitation drive across all its zones, targeting private and vacant plots that had turned into garbage-vulnerable points (GVPs). The campaign focused on sites where prolonged dumping of waste had created unhygienic conditions, increased the risk of disease and caused inconvenience to commuters.Priority was given to locations with heavy garbage accumulation. Municipal teams, equipped with machinery and manpower, were deployed to clear waste and restore cleanliness. In the Patliputra zone, the largest operation was conducted in Ward No. 27 at Cheena Kothi and Khas Mahal. Residents were reminded that door-to-door garbage collection services are operational in every ward and sector. Citizens were urged to hand over household waste only to municipal collection vehicles and refrain from dumping garbage on vacant plots or public spaces.PMC officials said the corporation’s headquarters control room monitors door-to-door collection vehicles daily. In case of a vehicle breakdown, an alternative vehicle is immediately deployed to ensure uninterrupted waste collection.
