Vadodara: During his first visit to the city and Gujarat following the BJP’s victories in the West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry Assembly elections, as well as local body polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to hold a roadshow in Vadodara on May 11. The city BJP unit and local administration have begun preparations for the possible event. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit the city to inaugurate ‘Sardardham-3, Dr Dushyant and Daksha Patel Sankul’ near Waghodiya crossroads on the outskirts. He is also expected to be felicitated at the event, which is likely to draw a large gathering from the Patel community. The city police and the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) have initiated groundwork for the visit. While police are preparing an extensive security cover, the VMC has begun cleaning drives and removing encroachments along the route expected to be used by the Prime Minister’s convoy.A senior BJP functionary said that while a roadshow on arrival was initially considered, it is now more likely to be held after the event. The evening timing is being preferred to avoid the heat and ensure greater public participation. The proposed route, from Gada Circle to the airport, is about 1 km long, though final details are yet to be worked out.Earlier, Modi held a roadshow in Vadodara in May 2025 during his first visit to the state after Operation Sindoor, receiving a grand welcome along the stretch from the Harni airport exit to the Khodiyarnagar entrance.
