Lucknow: A 23-year-old Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy) student has accused a senior functionary of a private university in Lucknow of sexual harassment, caste-based abuse and criminal intimidation, prompting registration of an FIR after court intervention.The FIR was lodged at Gudamba police station under Sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 351(3) (criminal intimidation) and 352 (intentional insult) of the BNS, along with Section 3(2)(va) of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.According to the complaint, the student, who belongs to SC community, is pursuing a Pharm D course at the university. She claimed that after undergoing surgery in April 2025, she failed two papers in her fourth semester due to health-related issues.The complainant alleged that on Feb 16, 2026, she visited the university to seek assistance regarding her academic difficulties. After waiting for several hours, she was called to the office of a senior university official.She alleged that the official offered to help her clear examinations and obtain a fee waiver in exchange for a sexual relationship. When she refused, he allegedly held her hand, pulled her towards him and touched her inappropriately.The student further alleged that she was subjected to casteist remarks and was warned against disclosing the incident.The FIR states that despite approaching the local police station, no action was taken.She also alleged that two university employees later contacted her and pressured her to withdraw the complaint, threatening her and her family with serious consequences.SHO Gudamba Anjani Mishra said probe was underway and no arrests have been made so far.
