Gurgaon: A 35-year-old PG operator was shot at following a dispute over a financial transaction in Acharya Puri on Tuesday evening.Hemant Kaushik, who was shot in the head, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.Kaushik had been running the PG accommodation for the past few years. “The victim’s condition is critical,” a police officer said.Police said one Amarjeet Grewal of Bhiwani is suspected to be the shooter, who had a financial dispute with the victim.The incident took place around 7.30pm when two assailants arrived on foot outside Kaushik’s house. They called him outside and opened fire following an argument. One bullet struck him in the head, leaving him seriously injured. The assailants fled the spot after the shooting.Hearing the sound of gunfire, residents came out of their houses and informed the police. Local residents rushed Kaushik to Kalyani Hospital in Sector 14, where doctors provided initial treatment before referring him to a higher centre in the city. He was later taken to Fortis Hospital.Cops from Sector 14 police station and a crime branch team reached the spot. Police inspected the crime scene and collected CCTV footage from cameras installed in the surrounding area. Statements of people present in the area are also being recorded.
