LUCKNOW: The state capital Lucknow has witnessed yet another increase in petrol and diesel prices, marking the third hike within the last ten days. According to the latest revision on Saturday morning, the price of petrol in the city has climbed to Rs 99.28 per litre, moving closer to the Rs 100 mark. Diesel has also become costlier, now retailing at Rs 92.64 per litre.Fuel rates have been rising steadily since May 14. Petrol prices went up from Rs 94.69 on May 14 to Rs 97.55 on May 15, followed by further revisions to Rs 98.42 on May 19 and Rs 99.28 on May 23. Diesel prices increased from Rs 87.81 to Rs 90.82 on May 15, then to Rs 91.73 on May 19, and Rs 92.64 on May 23.Premium fuels have also seen sharp jumps. XP95 has reached Rs 107.86 per litre, while XG now stands at Rs 98.25 per litre.The repeated revisions have pushed up retail selling prices by nearly Rs 5 for both petrol and diesel in just over a week, adding financial pressure on commuters and transport operators across the state.
