Hyderabad: The state govt has decided to provide pensions to patients suffering from thalassaemia and sickle cell anaemia from August 15. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries and ensure the scheme is rolled out from the specified date. During a meeting with Panchayat Raj officials and minister Seethakka on Thursday, the chief minister also instructed officials to sanction new pensions for widows, single women, toddy tappers and widows of persons with disabilities. He said MPDOs should closely monitor the implementation of govt welfare schemes and programmes.
