Hyderabad: Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday demanded the immediate resignation of Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan and also an independent inquiry into the NEET-UG 2026 controversy and the reported donation theft allegations relating to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.In his letter, the Peddapalli MP expressed concern over the developments, claiming that these incidents have seriously undermined public confidence.“The reported irregularities in the conduct of NEET-UG 2026, including paper leaks, examination disruptions, and administrative failures, have shattered the aspirations of lakhs of students who prepared honestly for this prestigious examination. Such failures are unacceptable in a democracy governed by the rule of law and demand not only investigation but also clear political accountability,” Vamsi stated.Also, the reported allegations concerning the management of donations made by devotees to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust have caused deep concern among millions of devotees. “The faith of the people must never be compromised. Every allegation must be examined through a fair, transparent, independent, and time-bound investigation, and those found responsible must face the strictest action under law,” the Congress MP urged.“In view of the gravity of these issues, I strongly urge you to order independent investigations, make the findings public, and ensure that no individual, regardless of position or influence, is above the law,” he added.The Congress MP also demanded: “In keeping with the constitutional principle of ministerial responsibility, I urge you to immediately seek the resignation of Union education minister (Dharmendra Pradhan) for the grave administrative failures surrounding NEET-UG 2026. Likewise, if the investigation into the reported allegations relating to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust establishes the responsibility of any Union minister or public functionary, appropriate constitutional action, including resignation, should follow without delay.”Concluding the letter, Vamsi said, “The people of India deserve transparent governance, accountability, and justice. I urge your govt to act decisively to restore public trust, safeguard the future of our students, and uphold the faith of millions of devotees.”
