Pathankot: Security was tightened across Pathankot on Monday after threatening emails claiming planned IED blasts at the municipal corporation (MC) office, a school and other sensitive installations prompted police to launch extensive searches.The emails, received at three locations in the district, triggered precautionary checks. No suspicious object or explosive material was found.SSP Daljinder Singh Dhillon said the emails appeared to be a hoax, though all standard security protocols had been activated. “Nothing has been found to substantiate the claims made in the email. It appears to be a fake threat. However, the cyber wing is investigating the origin of the email,” he said.Sources said the email was sent in the name of a Khalistan-linked organisation and contained references to both Sikh and Muslim names, besides mentioning the Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and former Union minister Ravneet Bittu.
