Kangra: A dispute between four tourists from Punjab and local residents over vehicle passage and parking at McLeod Ganj turned violent on Aug 24, leaving two people injured on each side.Kangra SP Kulbhushan Verma said the tourists got into a scuffle with local residents over a parking/pass issue. During the altercation, the tourists allegedly attacked two locals with a sword and ‘gandasa’ (dagger). The locals retaliated, injuring two of the four tourists.The tourists had travelled to McLeod Ganj, with one of them from Khadoor Sahib in Tarn Taran district. According to police, the dispute began when their car got stuck on a narrow road while they were heading towards Dharamkot market and trying to manoeuvre and park it.Police recovered the sword and ‘gandasa’ allegedly used in the attack and registered cases against both sides.The four tourists were taken into custody and produced before a court, which sent them to four days’ judicial custody, the SP said.
