Noida: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad Class X and XII results are likely to be declared in the last week of April with evaluation process having been largely completed across Noida and GhaziabadThe evaluation process began on March 18 with around 2,000 teachers deployed across evaluation centres in the two districts. They said Ghaziabad has completed checking all 2.3 lakh answer sheets assigned to it, while Noida has evaluated almost all of its 1.7 lakh copies, leaving about 1,000 to be assessed along with documentation formalities. The deadline for Noida has been extended till April 4. “Once the process concludes, the evaluated answer sheets will be dispatched to the board headquarters,” said a senior education official.Teachers involved in the exercise said there has been an overall improvement in student performance this year. They attributed it to mock tests and pre-board examinations conducted on a pattern similar to the final board papers. “ The students seemed more familiar with the question format,” said a teacher at a Ghaziabad evaluation centre. However, the evaluators also flagged unusual messages written by some students on answer sheets, allegedly seeking lenient marking. Teachers said several copies had special requests with some students mentioning their mobile numbers and asking examiners to call them, promising to transfer money digitally as “guru dakshina” if they were helped to pass. Such messages were reportedly most common in mathematics, science and english papers.“Students also cited personal reasons such as death in the family or upcoming marriages while requesting extra marks,” another teacher said.
