DCP (crime & traffic) Manpreet Singh Sudan said illegal parking in sensitive zones like the court complex not only causes congestion but also hampers emergency movement. “Our objective is not merely to collect fines but to foster disciplined driving and road safety. We will maintain a zero-tolerance policy against those obstructing public pathways,” he said.On Monday, the police issued 26 challans. Officials said the drive will intensify in the coming days, particularly in Sector 1 and major markets.Hundreds of litigants, advocates and court staff visit the complex daily. With limited parking space, the district administration created an additional facility near the PWD rest house about two months ago on the request of advocates. However, officials said many still do not use it. Rakesh Sharma, president of the Panchkula district bar association, said efforts are being made to encourage use of the facility.
