Sanjay Dutt’s portrayal of Pakistani cop Chaudhry Aslam in Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller has resonated strongly with audiences—and even earned praise from Aslam’s wife, Naureen Aslam. She shared that one particular moment in the film felt strikingly real, as if she was watching her husband himself on screen.Dhurandhar 2 Movie ReviewNaureen said that Sanjay Dutt was an apt choice to portray her husband. Recalling a scene, she said in an interview with AajTak Radio, “When he stands near the car and raises his eyes, for a moment it felt like Aslam himself.” She also revealed that Chaudhry Aslam had often said during his lifetime that a film would eventually be made about him.
However, Naureen also expressed that the film did not fully capture the depth of his personality. She remarked that the makers could have reached out to her, police officials, or journalists to better understand both his strengths and flaws. She added, “If they were making a film, they could have at least called me, the police, or journalists to understand both his positive and negative sides. He fulfilled tasks that the rest of the police never could.“Naureen mentioned that she has only seen parts of the film through clips. She also made a light-hearted comment about the use of strong language in the character’s portrayal, noting that while it may not suit family viewing, such language is common in police circles and fits the role. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, features a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and others in key roles. It follows an undercover Indian intelligence operative who infiltrates Karachi’s underworld and political system while seeking justice for the 2008 Mumbai attacks and tackling larger threats. The film turned into a massive blockbuster, grossing over ₹1,300 crore globally.
