Varanasi: The IRRI South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC), Varanasi, hosted Padma Bhushan Ram Badan Singh and Padma Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, two of India’s most eminent agricultural scientists, during their visit to the institute on Thursday.The director of ISARC, Sudhanshu Singh, welcomed both dignitaries and highlighted their valuable contributions in strengthening agricultural research, policy engagement, and science-led solutions for farmers.During an interaction with ISARC scientists and staff, R B Singh said this was his first visit to ISARC, and he felt truly privileged to be there. He was impressed by the quality of scientific work, the research environment, and the meaningful contribution the Centre was making to science and society. Singh highlighted the institute’s growing stature as a centre of excellence in rice research, driven by strong leadership, scientific rigour, and institutional commitment.
