Varanasi: Tuesday’s investigation by the Anti-Terror Squad of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra at the residence of a reputed family of doctors in Adampura area in connection with the recently busted module involved in online radicalisation threw up some alarming facts.A teen-aged boy of this family had come in contact with such groups through Telegram chatting site, although he had formatted most of the conversations made in the past before joint team of UP and Maharashtra ATS raided. Almost 7 hours of questioning all members of the family hinted that, apart from in them, several relatives were doctors and they wanted to see this boy to become a doctor too, said the sources.To escape the pressure, the boy started isolating himself and while staying away from family members, he got attracted to groups involved in radicalisation, said investigators who scanned electronic devices, including a mobile phone, laptop and printer, during their stay at the home of the paediatrician.On detecting his contact and communication with a group on Telegram in Maharashtra involved in online radicalisation, ATS of both states had put this boy on their radar. Admin of the Telegram group was recently detained by the Maharashtra ATS.ATS is now gathering further details, including analysing digital evidence such as call records, chats and transaction trails, to establish any potential links with extremist networks.
