Panaji: Former minister Francisco Pacheco has rejected allegations that BJP funded the formation of Goa Vikas Party during the 2012 Assembly elections to weaken Congress. Pacheco has also challenged Congress functionary Vikas Prabhudessai to disclose the party’s financial dealings during the period when the latter served as the treasurer, including where the funds were spent and how much money was utilised.Pacheco’s statement comes amid an escalating war of words over political funding and new political outfits skewing election results.Meanwhile, the former minister has also submitted a memorandum to the transport department and the transport minister, urging a review of traffic signals and AI surveillance cameras across the state.He said traffic signals installed at unnecessary locations should be removed to improve traffic flow and reduce inconvenience to commuters.
