Hyderabad: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday said that a vote for BRS is effectively a vote for the BJP in the Karimnagar municipal corporation.He called upon Muslims, Dalits, BCs, and others to vote for AIMIM. “The BRS and BJP corporators did not do anything for you. AIMIM is not with the ruling Congress, but we know how to get work from the govt. Over 600 crore worth of projects are being executed in my and Akbaruddin’s constituencies. Our corporators will work for you,” he said.Owaisi has been addressing election rallies in various municipalities, including Jagtial and Zaheerabad, and appealing to AIMIM leaders, Muslim scholars, and other community leaders to ensure that all eligible voters participate in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. “Do not take the SIR lightly. The BJP is targeting you through the SIR instead of the NRC,” he said.In a meeting at Jagtial, Owaisi said Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy and alleged turncoat Sanjay Kumar were at loggerheads, with their fight over who would contest the next assembly election on the Congress ticket. “But I am sure one of them will go to Mamu (KCR) before the 2028 assembly election,” Owaisi said.He added that the fight between the Congress and the alleged turncoat camps was benefiting the BJP. “If you vote AIMIM candidates to victory in the Jagtial civic body, there could be a possibility that AIMIM may field a candidate from the Jagtial assembly constituency after the delimitation of constituencies,” Owaisi said.
