Bhubaneswar: The Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2026 for postgraduate admissions will be held from May 5 to 18, higher education department announced on Wednesday.A total of 58,708 candidates have applied for 31,915 postgraduate seats in universities and colleges for the 2026-27 academic session.The application process was conducted through the Student Academic Management System (Sams) portal between Feb 27 and March 22. The examination will be conducted by state selection board (SSB). The department said that admit cards will be released on April 30 on the SSB website, and candidates will be able to download them online ahead of the examination.Admissions to postgraduate courses will be strictly based on marks secured in the CPET, officials said.The department has set July 10 as the target for commencement of PG classes across institutions, aiming to streamline the academic calendar and ensure timely admissions.
