Nagpur: Continuing the legacy of the Shri Ram Shobhayatra in West Nagpur following its semi-centennial milestone last year, the Ram Navratri and Hanuman Janmotsav collective celebrations will be held from March 18 to 26 at the Shri Ram Mandir ground in Ram Nagar. The festivities, organised by Pashchim Nagpur Nagrik Sangh and Shri Ram Mandir, mark the 51st year of the annual celebration. “The nine-day festival will feature devotional rituals, cultural programmes and a Shobhayatra, drawing thousands of devotees from across the city,” said Ravi Waghmare, head of Nagrik Sangh on Saturday.The main highlight, the Shri Ram Shobhayatra, will take place on March 26 at 5.30pm, beginning from Shri Ram Mandir, Ram Nagar. The palanquin and Ram Rath will be worshipped in presence of dignitaries, with over 50 floats. The procession will feature tableaux depicting scenes from the Ramayana, mythological characters, cultural traditions, traditional lezim performances, martial arts demonstrations and decorative chariots. The procession will pass through major areas of West Nagpur before concluding at Shri Ram Mandir.
