Nagpur: With distribution of Enumeration Forms nearing completion and digitisation gathering pace under Special Intensive Revision (SIR), collecting filled and signed forms back from electors seems to be the next major concern in Nagpur district. As per the district administration statistics till July 30, collection of more than 2.7 lakh forms, or 5.88% of the district’s total, remains pending collection with just eight days left for the Aug 8 deadline.The district data shows that digitisation has now crossed the halfway mark, with 26.02 lakh Enumeration Forms processed, taking Nagpur’s overall digitisation rate to 56.12%. However, the uncollected forms — approximately 2.7 lakh based on the official percentage — could pose a challenge as officials race to secure signed forms from electors and complete their digitisation.The rural belt continues to remain substantially ahead of Nagpur city. Of the 21.9 lakh electors across six rural Assembly constituencies, 15.18 lakh forms, or 69.33%, have been digitised. In comparison, the six city constituencies have digitised 10.84 lakh of their 24.47 lakh forms, translating to 44.29%. The number of booth-level officers completing 100% digitisation has also risen sharply to 642. Ramtek accounts for the highest number at 213, followed by Kamptee with 143 and Umred with 139.“The challenge is no longer distribution but collection of filled Enumeration Forms. In several localities, especially in urban areas, people are unavailable due to work commitments, migration or frequent travel, while some households remain locked during visits. BLOs have been instructed to make repeated visits and hold camps so that maximum forms are collected and digitised before the deadline,” a senior district official said.To accelerate collection of pending forms, special SIR camps will be held at polling stations in Nagpur South and Nagpur West Assembly constituencies on Aug 1 and 2. BLOs will collect and verify filled Enumeration Forms, guide voters and help those who have not yet completed the process.(With inputs from Rose Bachwani)
