TNNNew Delhi: More than 1.4 lakh e-files and 9.2 lakh e-receipts have been processed by Delhi govt’s e-Office system since its rollout in July 2025. The digital platform now covers 235 departments and offices and serves 15,748 active users, according to the chief minister’s office.The system is a digital file management platform through which govt departments process official files, correspondence and approvals online instead of paper files.The e-Office system completes one year on July 1. Chief minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday that the initiative has transformed the functioning of govt offices. The shift, she said, has resulted in faster file disposal, improved transparency and accountability, and more timely delivery of public services.According to govt, the system enables authorities to track the movement of files, identify the officer handling a particular file and monitor the action taken on it. It has also strengthened record management, reduced delays and improved coordination among departments.Official data showed that the number of officers and employees using the platform has increased from 5,005 across 198 departments and offices as of March 8, 2025, to 15,748 users across 235 departments and offices by June 27, 2026.Govt has developed separate versions of the platform for govt departments, public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies, and universities and educational institutions.Use of the e-Office system was made mandatory across all Delhi govt departments from July 1, 2025. At present, all 132 govt departments are on the platform, with 11,940 active users.Between July 1, 2025, and April 12, 2026, govt departments processed 1,14,603 e-files and 7,14,091 e-receipts. Following the launch of the upgraded e-Office system, another 23,767 e-files and around 1.53 lakh e-receipts were processed between April 13 and June 27, 2026.The platform is also being used by 3,090 users across 55 public sector undertakings, boards, corporations, commissions and other bodies, which processed 4,672 e-files and 55,132 e-receipts between April 15 and June 27. In universities, colleges and educational institutions, 718 users processed 1,267 e-files and 3,051 e-receipts during the same period.According to the govt, 177 of the 235 departments and offices, or 75.3 per cent, are now regularly conducting official work through the system.
