Chandigarh: Punjab CM’s OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman on Wednesday moved CBI court seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against the team probing the case registered by the central agency against him.In his application before the court, Ghuman said the CBI had filed an application seeking exemption from uploading the FIR related to the case registered against him and other accused persons. While the agency had obtained an order not to upload the FIR, the FIR had been made available to the media and public, which, he alleged, was aimed at tarnishing Ghuman’s image.The special judge, CBI Court, Chandigarh, has issued notice to the CBI.The CBI has registered an FIR against Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann‘s OSD, Rajbir Ghuman, and five others on allegations of corruption, following it up with extensive coordinated searches at eight locations on Tuesday—including the CM’s camp office in Chandigarh’s Sector 2 and Ghuman’s native residence in Sangrur’s Gharachon village.Apart from Ghuman, those booked by the CBI include Nitin Gohal, Jitin Gohal alias Raja, Romi Raja Mahajan, Bir Devinder, RS Nagra and “unknown public servant(s) and private person(s).” According to the CBI, the case was registered pursuant to orders from the Punjab and Haryana High Court and a report received from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
