Navi Mumbai: After a BJP nodal youth committee member, Suraj Patil, was caught photocopying 3,400 SIR electoral forms on Thursday, and the police having registered an FIR against Patil on Friday, Sena (UBT) and Congress leaders demanded that Kharghar police file a case against the main conspirators.Sena (UBT)’s Balesh Bhojane alleged, “The police must ascertain under whose instruction and how Patil obtained the forms of eleven different polling stations. One of the constables proceeded on medical leave raising doubt over the police actions”. Congress corporator Haresh Keni said, “A representation has been given to the Kharghar police by our party. Such a serious incident would not have happened without the involvement of BJP netas.”Earlier, five booth-level officers including three data entry operators of a private company were suspended and served with show-cause notices in this connection. Kharghar police and a two-member inquiry committee of Panvel City Municipal Corporation are probing the incident.
