Gurgaon: A 37-year-old man was killed and five others were injured after an SUV carrying six people crashed into a roadside tree on Atali-Korali Road on Tuesday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Manish, a resident of Khedi Kalan. The accident took place around 4pm and was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the area.Police said Manish was sitting in the rear seat. The other five occupants — Om Prakash, Rinku, Yogesh, Sunil and Omveer — belong to different villages. All five were found unconscious and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Local residents helped take the injured out of the damaged vehicle.Tiggaon police station SHO Ranbir said no FIR has been registered and there is currently no indication of drunk driving.The CCTV footage shows the Scorpio approaching at high speed before crashing into the roadside tree. The impact was so severe that the vehicle was mangled. Police are yet to establish whether overspeeding was the cause or some other factor was involved.The black Scorpio was travelling towards Korali. The occupants were returning from Tappal in Uttar Pradesh. The vehicle belonged to Subhash Panchal, district president of the Congress OBC Cell, they said.The SHO said the damaged Scorpio was removed from the road with the help of a towing van.
